Who we are

The David Lewis Association has been helping Liverpool’s youth overcome financial barriers for over 100 years. Our fundamental purpose has always been to support young people in this great city, whether that be helping develop their personal abilities, talents and skills, encouraging new enterprise and creativity, giving them a helping hand into employment or simply giving them the confidence to believe in themselves.

Our Opportunity Grant scheme offers small financial grants to help Liverpool’s young people on their way to achieving their dreams.

How we can help

If you are a Liverpool resident aged between 14 and 25, you can apply for a David Lewis Association Opportunity Grant. We offer successful applicants grants (typically up to £1,000) to help grab opportunities that might otherwise be financially out of reach.

It might be a helping hand to fund your studies, start a business, prepare for employment or simply the financial headstart you need to follow your passion.

Sponsor support

All Opportunity Grant applications must be made in conjunction with a sponsorship organisation, eg a school, sports club, charitable organisation or youth club.

Sponsor support is an important part of the application process – your sponsor will be required to validate your application and they will also be asked to receive any grant funds awarded to you by the David Lewis Association.
