How to apply for a David Lewis Association Grant
grant application process
The David Lewis Association invites applications on behalf of young people resident in the Liverpool area seeking financial grant support up to a maximum of £5,000 to further develop their acknowledged skills and talents, fulfil personal ambitions and aspirations, meet immediate challenges or overcome short term barriers – who, without such assistance, may miss out on life changing opportunities.
We welcome applications to help finance a wide range of interests, ambitions and disciplines, but we do require each application to be made by an organisation on behalf of the young person seeking funds. This could be a school, sports club, youth group, charitable organisation or community centre.
Once an application has been received from the applicant's sponsor organisation, we will assess its suitability before arranging a visit from one of our outreach volunteers to meet the applicant and their sponsor. Then, once the application has been approved at one of the Assocation's regular trustee meetings, a grant will be made.
Successful applicants will be:
Young people up to the age of 25 years with an ambition or specific opportunity that can be achieved in the short term with help from the David Lewis Association.
Resident in the Liverpool area.
Endorsed personally by an organisation representative able to provide evidence of applicant need and capability to succeed. They must also be able to confirm planned expenditure and be responsible for overseeing its intended purpose.
Able to demonstrate why a David Lewis Association grant would make a real difference to achieving the goal in question and how financial hardship or other circumstances would bar progress otherwise.
